CREATE Swansea Mental Health Services

(Community Rehabilitation Employment Assessment Training Enterprise)

CREATE Solutions

Mental Health Employment Services

Established in 2006, CREATE Solutions is a joint “vocational services” project, between the City & County of Swansea and Swansea NHS Trust. Working together in a formal “Partnership Agreement” has enabled us to develop and grow into a progressive and cohesive service, ready to face the challenges of the next decade. Increased demands upon the established employment services highlighted the need for a purpose designed facility. The new premises, located in Manselton, has met that need, and now serves as the base for all of work related projects, along with the Employment Needs Team and Unit Support staff.
As well as project work opportunities, the service provides a comprehensive range of services designed to assist people suffering serious and enduring Mental Health problems. Support can be offered to find the appropriate level of meaningful occupation to the service users, with additional support and guidance offered to the host. Services range from initial vocational assessments, benefits advice, training, educational courses, placements, voluntary work, and work tasters, through to full time, permanent employment Care is taken to ensure that the level of support to the service user and host is maintained at an appropriate level.
The project offers employed status work opportunities within the training unit This assists in ensuring we maximise the opportunities to the service users, as any vacancy may present a potential stepping stone to individual service users.
