City of Sanctuary Swansea! A place for Asylum seekers!!

on October 18, 2012

Home sweet home

Many asylum seekers find their lives are turned up side down overnight. One day living comfortable and the next they are thrown to turmoil.

This picture represents how suddenly life’s of asylum seekers can change. The left side of the picture shows the safe and happy life’s asylum seekers have previously led whilst the right side shows the violence and force why asylum seeker flee their home.

Unsafe at home!

We all need a home- Somewhere to live safely with our family to be part of a community.

How would you feel if this safety was suddenly shattered?

What if suddenly the place you called home become a place you were afraid off?

What if everyday you were frightened that you or someone you love did not come home or could be beaten up, threaten, raped or even killed?

But to leave could mean loose your home, loosing mass of  possessions and loosing contact with love ones and maybe forever.

This is what happens to hundreds of thousands of people every year.  In the world today there are over 10 million refuge who have had to flee their homes for their life’s or in fear of percecution.

Most of them flee to neighbouring countries- Their are over 1.7 million refugees from Afgharistar  in Pakistan, and another million in Iran– Some find there way to the UK and Swansea.
